Los Angeles is a city
Rapidly growing Southern California and is the core of the country's television and film industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, Grauman's Chinese Theater sports celebrity footprints, the Walk of Fame commemorates thousands of stars and vendors offer maps of celebrity homes.

Other attractions in Los Angeles, in addition to the entertainment industry, include the Getty Center, which displays European and American art and extensive gardens. The Griffith Observatory has panoramic views of the skyline, while the Lakers' basketball teams and the Clippers play at the Staples Center. In the city and around it, there are notable beaches such as Venice, full of fashionable shops on a colorful boardwalk, and Santa Monica, whose dock offers attractions and games. In summer, there are free outdoor concerts and film screenings in different parts of the city. Other important annual events include the Academy Awards (February / March) and the Los Angeles Marathon (February / March).

It is famous for its year-round haze, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, the trams and the colorful Victorian houses. The Transamerica Pyramid of the Financial District is the most characteristic skyscraper. In the bay, there is the Alcatraz Island, place of the famous old prison.
Fisherman's Wharf offers souvenir shops, seafood and a colony of sea lions. In Russian Hill, there is Lombard Street, formed by 8 sharp and steep curves. The extensive green areas include the Presidio, a former military base converted into a national park. Golden Gate Park exhibits works of art at the Young Museum, as well as natural history exhibits at the California Academy of Sciences. The Castro neighborhood is a historical core of gay culture, while Barrio Chino is the oldest community of its kind in North America. The conflictive and artistic Mission District has taquerias next to colorful murals.

Between Apr and Dec. is when more visitors arrive in San Francisco, and the largest influx is in summer. Although average temperatures are higher in this period, mornings and evenings often have a wet, cold mist. In summer, street fairs and cultural institutions offer free outdoor entertainment. Those who visit in winter will find the opera and ballet seasons in full activity. Major annual events include the Chinese New Year (Feb.), the Bay to Breakers (May.) Walking race, the San Francisco LGBT Pride Festival and March (June) and the San Francisco Fleet Week naval event (June). oct.).

New York includes 5 districts that are located where the Hudson River empties into the Atlantic Ocean. In its center is Manhattan, a densely populated district that is among the major commercial, financial and cultural centers of the world. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers, such as the Empire State Building, and the expansive Central Park. The Broadway theater is located in the Times Square area illuminated with neon lights.
The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan with the Brooklyn neighborhood, where neighborhoods range from Williamsburg, hotbed of alternative music, art and bohemian, to Coney Island on the coast, with its amusement parks. In the Queens neighborhood, there is the Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where Unisphere is located, a 43-meter high spherical sculpture from the 1964 World's Fair. In the Bronx, the northernmost neighborhood of New York, is the New York Botanical Garden and the famous Bronx Zoo. The Staten Island ferry links Manhattan to the southernmost neighborhood of New York with views of the city's skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

New York is a year-round destination, with iconic events, such as the US Open tennis tournament (before September) and Macy's Thanksgiving Day (November). Spring and fall have a temperate climate and intense seasons of performing arts. In summer, outdoor doors are held, and many New Yorkers leave the city on weekends, making it a good time to make reservations at popular restaurants. Dec. brings the Rockefeller Center tree lighting (var., Nov. to Dec.) and the New Year's Eve party in Times Square (Dec. 31). From Jan It's cold and it's easier to get tickets to Broadway.
